Grimm's memory

Grimm answers only from what you give it. This page explains how its memory works — pages, documents, what's free, and how to keep it up to date.

Every Grimm starts empty. What you index in the Knowledge tab becomes its memory — and its entire world: Grimm never invents facts about your site. If something is missing from its memory, it says so and points the visitor to you.

Two ways to feed it

  • Index pages of your site — Grimm reads a page (3 credits each) and remembers its content, its link and its image, so it can quote it and link to it in answers.
  • Add documents — write directly in the dashboard (a guided text box in the Knowledge tab), or upload a file (.md, .txt, .pdf, .docx): FAQ, opening hours, policies, product notes. The first document of every Grimm is free.

The free starter document

You can launch a working Grimm without paying anything for indexing: write what visitors ask most (who you are, what you offer, hours, contact, FAQ) right in the Knowledge tab and save. One good document is enough to give Grimm its memory.

Tip: treat that text box as Grimm’s “master” document — come back and edit it whenever things change. Saving replaces the previous version, always free.

Updating and forgetting

  • Update a page: re-index the same URL — the old version is replaced (charged like a normal crawl).
  • Update a document: re-upload the same file name — free, it replaces the previous version.
  • Forget something: delete the page or document in the Knowledge tab — Grimm stops using it immediately.

Limits

A Grimm can hold up to 200 sources (pages + documents) — plenty for most sites. You can delete old sources at any time to make room.
