Setup Grimm
Item descriptions
Your site shows each item with just a title, a photo and a price? Write the descriptions yourself, upload them, and Grimm presents every piece like a knowledgeable guide would.
Grimm only says what your content says. On many catalog sites — a gallery, a shop, a portfolio — the item pages carry a title, an image and little else, so Grimm can honestly present the item and link its page, but not talk about it. The fix takes an afternoon: write the descriptions yourself and give them to Grimm.
Write one document of descriptions
A plain document (.md, .txt, .pdf or .docx — or pasted straight into the Knowledge text box), one section per item. Use the exact title as it appears on your site — that is how Grimm matches the description to the item:
## No.381, 2019 — Yves Clerc Oil on canvas. A dense composition where the figure emerges from a saturated background — painted in the period when the artist numbered his works instead of titling them. One of the strongest pieces of the 2019 series. ## Composition symétrique, 1920 — Auguste Herbin …
- Exact titles — copy them from the site, they are the matching key.
- One section per item, with the creator's name in the heading.
- Write like you would speak — 3 to 6 sentences, the way a guide presents a piece in a gallery or a seller presents a product. That tone carries straight into Grimm's answers.
- One file per creator or collection if your catalog is large — it keeps retrieval sharp.
Upload it
In the editor, open Knowledge and upload the file (or paste the text). One credit per file — and the first document of every Grimm is free. Re-uploading the same file name replaces it at no cost, so you can refine the texts as often as you like.
What changes in the answers
When a visitor asks about an item, Grimm now answers with your description — and still shows the item's link and picture. Items without a description keep the honest behaviour: name, link, and an invitation to open the page.
